Pegasus Theatre Company is pleased to announce a call for plays for our 2023 New Play Reading Series focusing on the theme of “Transformation.”  A total of four plays will be selected to be read in Bordentown, NJ in October 2023.  

 

Entry is open to all playwrights in central New Jersey, southern New Jersey, and eastern Pennsylvania.  BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and female playwrights, as well as writers from other underrepresented and marginalized groups, are especially encouraged to submit their work.

Submission Requirements:

• Playwrights must live in or have a close connection to central New Jersey, southern New Jersey, or eastern Pennsylvania.

• Plays must be full-length, original, unproduced works that somehow address the theme of “Transformation.”

• Submissions must be in PDF format and must include a cover letter expressing the playwright’s interest in the theme, the playwright’s bio, and the script. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider musicals at this time.

Playwrights of selected works will receive a $50 honorarium and the opportunity to hear their play read by professional actors. Playwrights are encouraged to attend all rehearsals, and must be available to attend the reading and engage in any discussion that follows the reading.
